WebRoute: Dynamic Number Replacement

WebRoute is our advanced system for dynamically changing the displayed telephone number on your website. We provide you with a few lines of code, which you place on your website. You then decide which traffic you want to track and WebRoute does the rest.

"Highly acclaimed, simple integration"

Every time someone visits your website, your website communicates with AdInsight, letting AdInsight know how that visitor found your site. Once AdInsight knows this information, it matches it with the traffic rules you created and tells your website which telephone number corresponds to that traffic source. The displayed telephone number on your website is then dynamically changed to the correct tracking number. This all happens in a split second. Then every time that visitor returns they will see the same telephone number, as a first party cookie is set which saves that number.

Which Sources Can I track?

There are 6 different traffic rules you can use in WebRoute, each having a positive and negative instance. These rules can also be grouped to make more complex rule combinations. The rules are as follows:
  • Direct Traffic - Use this rule to detect people who enter your website where no referring domain exists. This is most commonly the case when people type in your domain name directly into their address bar, although it can be the case due to other reasons.
  • URL Tag - Use this rule to check whether a certain tag exists in your URL (website address). For instance; if you want to track a particular PPC campaign or ad group you can use this rule and tag the destination URL’s in the ads. Then every time someone clicks on that PPC ad they will see that particular tracking number.
  • PPC Traffic - Use this rule to detect all PPC traffic from Google or Yahoo. This rule looks for the ‘gclid’ and ‘OVRAW’ tag within the URL.
  • Organic Search - This rule is similar to the PPC Traffic rule, however it detects all organic/natural search traffic from Google, Yahoo, MSN/Live or all three.
  • Search Phrase - This rule allows you to display a tracking number when a certain search phrase or keyword is used to find your website. This rule also allows for an exact or broad match options, so you can track a wider range of keywords with one number.
  • Referring Domain - Use this rule to track traffic from a particular domain name. If you enter ‘example.com’ then this will match all traffic from that domain. However, you can be more specific and enter a sub-domain here, in which case only traffic from that sub-domain will be tracked.
